Coming back
Ah! What a surprise this is!
Alli has been wracking her brain these last few months, trying to figure out what to do. With her recovery being less than ideal, she can’t work on pages as much as she would like.
Additionally, she can’t sit idle – doing so only results in her feeling like she’s letting people down. So she’s been trying out different art styles, different story ideas and trying to figure out how she can continue to make comics so that she can still feel like she’s capable of making people happy online (a tough goal to set, for sure). Out of My Element is too detailed for her to consistently make updates and just inking one page of it drains her for the better part of two days, so that project is probably going to be going on indefinite hiatus.
However, there is one comic that is not as detailed, still has a lot of humour and that has already gotten the tedious “beginning” part out of the way. One that she also personally connects with as a whole because of the main character.
And that would be My Hero!
I know it’s a bit of a shock and some folks would want OoME to continue over My Hero!, but we can only work with what Alli can currently handle. I, for one, just am happy to be able to work with my wife on a shared project together. Hopefully, if this helps build her constitution back up, we can look at getting more done in the future.
So don your Order of the Nine robes, brush up on your Godspeak and get ready for more tales of Has and Lark – complete with a few new things!
The current chapter has 4 updates left, which will be done wholly by Allison. Once this chapter is over, we will be having a colourist join the project so that Alli can focus on getting pages done without burning herself out too much.
Yaay, I’m so happy to hear from you! They’re both good stories, I’m glad being able to switch is helpful.
Hoping that it helps her mentally, too!
Good, now I have no excuse for putting off an archive dive. Glad you’re feeling better, Ali. Here’s to your improving health. βΊοΈ
Thank you for your kinds words π
Good to have it back! I’ll have to re-read the archives, though… It’s been a while!
Whether it’s My Hero or Out of My Element, I’ll be looking forward to whatever you make! But I must admit that I’m particularly excited to read more of My Hero. It’s such a fun story!
As always, we take the words of Wizards quite highly! Thank you for your compliment!
Looking forward to it
Jim. Since OOME reboot didn’t go too far… would you consider to put the old storyline back on-line? I’d love to revisit the old chapters. And believe me when I say the story was good and I’m sure the characters arcs and evolution engaged the readers as much as it did with me.
I now I’m repeating myself. I’ve asked for this at least twice over the last two years. But now, there might be a good reason to do it.
Thanks and I hope everything goes up from now on.
I am certainly willing to give it a go. I may need to work around the current system or upgrade to Toocheke which would allow us to put both stories up simultaneously. It depends on free time at the moment. We’ll see what I can do! π
Oooh, yes please! I love the story and the art. The remake is neat, but it was sad to lose access to the original story. I would love to read it again if it comes back up!
