Ch7 13
Well, that was certainly unexpected! Looks like the Lark family has some kind of connection with Keenar the Venerable! What could this mean? After everything we’ve seen, what could this do to our main characters!?
How many more uncomfortable moments will this family gathering have?!
Give me your theories!
Turns out she is a Lark too…
“What? I thought everyone knew Keenar was my dad!” π
I mean, she IS his only daughter…
maybe that’s why she is immune to Magnus’ dashing charm? This is quite the awkward offend the whole family dinner !
That really has nothing to do with it – the reason she’s immune was already established way back on page 6 of this chapter: “Only three things are not affected by his curse. One that has found true love, Succubi, and those with a pure heart” – ie: the same reason Hass has flowers in her ice. Which Gurtie tried to explain to her back in chapter 5 on page 9, and took all the way through page 10 to get her to understand.
Correction: Keenar being her dad may be the reason for the reason she isn’t affected by the curse – I’d imagine dating prospects are slim when the father of the potential girlfriend is that scary.
She used so many different ways, too. Youd think Has would have gotten it quicker
I can picture the wedding now. Seymour: “Keenar you great colossal asswipe! how dare your daughter seduce my grandson like this!” Keenar: “Ah Seymour, ever the unimaginative, insufferable, lack-witted oaf I see” and while they’re trading insults Magnus is upset that no one is paying attention to him as Melinda is warding off horny bridesmaids, Jeni and Lu are getting absolutely smashed at the bar and having an arm wrestling match, all Ty can do is shake his head and ask why, Nana has wandered off and gotten herself caught up in an adventure with the rest of Lark’s friends and Lark is either desperately trying to convince Haas that freezing and shattering the entire wedding party is a bad idea or suggesting that they should just elope and go have sex in the woods.
**checks notes** close…
Jeffy-boy and Has are… related?
Maybe? Guess you’ll just have to wait and see!
Always π
Most questions are for clarificationing purposes, don’t mind having to wait for answers if they are meant to be revealed in-comic
Yeah, but not everyone reads the comments, so sometimes you lot get little teasers and hints π
Yeah, but don’t expect them, and treat them like the unexpected treats they are π
More like her father and his grandfather used to be BFFs, or whatever “soulbound” means. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that things did not end well between them. Most intriguing… π€
To give a hint: Lark and Hasera are soulbound.
Right! That thing with the orb that blew a hole in the tavern.
So Keenar was Seymor’s guardian?
Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner! π
Huh. And the council told Hass that the only way to end the binding was death back on page 13. Yet Keenar must be alive, since both Hass and the council talk about him in the present tense (“Which one of you would like to be the one to tell him we denied his ONLY daughter her request?”), and Seymor looks reasonably alive as well. I mean, other than the glowy skull on his face, no idea what that means.
Fortunately, patience will probably provide information eventually, and until then we’ve got rampant speculation!
There will be some explanation (sort of) in the next page. One of the races on Alteria is the Unclaimed. These people are those that died in a way that Cindrani took interest in them and gave them a second chance. You can check out the write-up on the race here.
I really need to make a link to the knowledge base
Wow….so Keenar and Seymour were soulbound. Considering it is until death and one is unclaimed. Apparently Seymour died and Keenar went his separate way. Harsh and awkward.
And now you have an idea as to why Seymour is… not happy

Seymour: I’m sorry, I’ve got something in my penis.
Something called PEE!!
