Ch7 14
Sounds like Keenar the Venerable was not always as pure as everyone made him out to be! Either that or Hasera has no idea about anything her father actually did. I mean, honestly, both are probable. I wonder what else Mr. Keenar never told his precious baby girl?
I wonder what he’d do to the man who dared to deflower his little girl.
Especially if that man was his soul-brother’s grandchild.
Boy howdy, all of these random questions are making me thirsty! I’d better go get a drink while you all talk among yourselves and theorize the crap out of what this could all mean…
We can’t theorize the crap out of everything or our theories wouldn’t be full of crap any more!
Hasera might well be right. Her father WOULD never do that…
…because he already did plenty of it in his youth and now he’s settled down.
As for what Keenan would do to any Lark who deflowered his little girl…
Probably destroy Lark’s shirt. With some ludicrously overpowered spell that you’d expect to utterly vaporise him, but which somehow only succeeds in incinerating his shirt.
The Death of Insanely Overpowered Fireballs will be quite disappointed, and possibly demoted to Death Of Being Sat On By A Giant Frog.
Hmm if the story guardians are all based on her father then I suppose all her father would need to be overprotective about boys is thinking about someone like himself in his youth hitting on his daughter…
Also it makes me wonder how many brothers and sisters Hasera might have running around.
That whole family is cracked; how could Hasera believe that the Guardians in the books were really based on her father? And the phrase “based on” gives a lot of wiggle room. Like Disney’s ‘Beauty and the Beast’ is based on the story written by Mme. Villeneuve (had to look that up, I always thought it was the Brothers Grimm). Settle down, Hasera. Melinda might be yanking your chain.
Very loosely based on a true story…operative word being “loosely”. 😜
. . . Hass. . . How do you think you were conceived?
Eh, big difference between getting busy with one’s lawfully wedded spouse and going after “anything that moved”.
Hasera only mentioned her father, though; where’s her mother, I should like to know? 🤔
OH HO HO HO HO!
Based on that laugh, I don’t know whether to be concerned or excited, haha.
I know that laugh; this is gonna be good. 😎
I would guess not on this plane, and possibly not even from the nine realms at all
Wait a minute: is The Lark this world’s version of Doctor Who? o_O
More like The Lark is this world’s version of Conan the Barbarian. The Doctor travels through time too much, and is too pacifistic in the show to be compared to The Lark. Also, Conan’s implied to get more nookie.
Sounds kind of like Keenar the Venerable is the Doctor Who of the Lark books. Keeps dying, keeps coming back with a different face and different personality quirks, but at the core it’s still the same Guardian…
The last words from one of his lives was: “I don’t want to go”, so… maybe?
>implying a dude wouldn’t sleep with anything that moves
No, implying that her dad wouldn’t sleep with anything that moves (and a few that doesn’t)
Afterall, he only slept with her mother once
To quote my favorite character from “Night Court” Bull when speaking to the prosecutor. “Oh we didn’t sleep together. We had sex all night”. 🙂 Note, Bull was 7′ tall and had concrete furniture because it was more ‘durable’.
🎶Skeletons in the Closet!🎶
Hass: Are you saying my father was one of those nobodies?
Melinda: No, dear. Your father was aaaaaall of the nobodies.
Anything that moves? Including Jeffie’s gran?
Nah. She found true love already!
